Audio samples ship from several sources. This file records the upstream source,
license, and any processing applied before redistribution in Starrypad.

Samples/ac_*.wav — Salamander acoustic kit
-------------------------------------------

Derived from the Salamander Drumkit by Alexander Holm, released under the
Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported license (CC BY-SA 3.0):
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/

The files here were trimmed for low latency playback and converted to 16-bit
48 kHz stereo. They remain licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0, which requires
attribution wherever they are used. Modified samples are distributed under the same CC BY-SA 3.0 license.

Samples/*8*.wav and related 808 one-shots — TR-808 set
-------------------------------------------------------

Derived from the Roland TR-808 Sound Sample Set 1.0.0 (1994) by Michael
Fischer, as published by the TidalCycles project under the Creative Commons
CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication:
https://github.com/tidalcycles/sounds-tr808-fischer
https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/

The files here were trimmed to their transient, resampled from 44.1 kHz to
48 kHz in the frequency domain, normalized, and written as 24-bit stereo.
The upstream set is published under CC0 1.0.

Samples/fp_world_*.wav — FreePats World and Rare Percussion
------------------------------------------------------------

Source repository:
https://github.com/freepats/world-percussion

Publisher page:
https://freepats.zenvoid.org/Percussion/world-and-rare-percussion.html

The source project publishes this bank under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0
Universal Public Domain Dedication:
https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/

Starrypad ships these four selections:

- fp_world_hand_clap.wav <- samples/HandClap/01_02.flac
- fp_world_tambourine.wav <- samples/Tambourine/01_01.flac
- fp_world_egg_shaker.wav <- samples/EggShaker/fast_01.flac
- fp_world_claves.wav <- samples/Claves/01.flac

The source performances are not trimmed, normalized, pitch-shifted, or otherwise
revoiced by Starrypad. `scripts/import_cc0_samples.sh` decodes each upstream
file and converts it to 48 kHz, stereo, 24-bit PCM WAV for consistent iOS
playback.

Samples/fp_synth_*.wav — FreePats Synthesizer Percussion
---------------------------------------------------------

Source repository:
https://github.com/freepats/synthesizer-percussion

Publisher page:
https://freepats.zenvoid.org/Percussion/electric-percussion.html

The source project publishes this bank under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0
Universal Public Domain Dedication:
https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/

Starrypad ships these four selections:

- fp_synth_low_tom.wav <- samples/LowTom02-01.flac
- fp_synth_cymbal.wav <- samples/Cymbal01-01.flac
- fp_synth_claves.wav <- samples/Claves01.flac
- fp_synth_shaker.wav <- samples/Shaker04.flac

The source performances are not trimmed, normalized, pitch-shifted, or otherwise
revoiced by Starrypad. `scripts/import_cc0_samples.sh` decodes each upstream
file and converts it to 48 kHz, stereo, 24-bit PCM WAV. Runtime tuning in
`Kit.swift` may pitch a sample within the same instrument family; for example,
the synth low tom is tuned down when used as the electronic floor-tom slot.

Samples/glass_*.wav — generated glass effects
----------------------------------------------

glass_break, glass_shatter and glass_tap are generated rather than recorded:
inharmonic partials, a filtered noise transient, and scattered grains for the
debris tail. They are part of this project and covered by its LICENSE. They are
kept as effects assets and are not used under unrelated percussion labels.

Samples/kitc_*.wav — original Starrypad rhythm-synth kit
--------------------------------------------------------

These 16 one-bar phrases were synthesized specifically for Starrypad by
`scripts/generate_kit_c.py`; no third-party recordings or musical works are
included. They are 120 BPM, 2-second loops. Tonal phrases use A natural minor
and the shared Am-F-C-G progression. They are covered by this project's LICENSE.
